“I look forward to joining Thompson Coburn’s national bench and bringing to bear the full range of my skills and cross-disciplinary experience, including working alongside senior leadership on a range of transactional and regulatory matters,” said Dan. “Thompson Coburn has a fantastic Health Care team, and I’m excited to collaborate with my new colleagues across the country for the benefit of our health care clients.”

In his role for AllianceRx Walgreens Pharmacy, Dan managed the delivery of legal, compliance, and privacy support and acted as the corporate governance advisor to the C-suite, board of directors and board committees, supporting strategic transactions and the growth of the company from start-up phase through maturity. He also has a successful record of managing, structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and closing a wide variety of commercial transactions.

At Thompson Coburn, Dan will serve as a strategic thought partner who provides business-forward guidance in commercial transactions, health care regulatory matters, and pharmaceutical contracting, including procurement, rebates, and data reporting. He can also provide detailed guidance on reimbursement arrangements, corporate governance and board relations, strategy and innovation, litigation, and human resources matters, among other areas.

Dan is skilled at leading internal investigations into fraud, medical billing, and other compliance/privacy matters, and has counseled senior business leaders on how to manage consumer complaints and audits by payor and pharmaceutical clients, accreditation agencies, and federal and state regulatory agencies.

Dan started his legal career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney spending considerable time on civil health care and other fraud cases. During his time with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Dan collaborated with numerous federal and state law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, numerous federal agency OIGs, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
